St Ives will once again come alive with music, art and entertainment when the St Ives September Festival returns from Saturday 12 to Saturday 26 September 2026.
The two-week celebration brings performances, exhibitions, workshops and cultural events to venues throughout the town, making it an excellent time to enjoy an autumn break in West Cornwall.
Live Music and Entertainment
Music is at the heart of the festival, with performances covering folk, jazz, rock, pop and traditional Cornish music.
The 2026 programme includes appearances from The Oggymen, Molly Hocking, Ocean Colour Scene’s Dan Sealey, Steve Knightley, Harleymoon Kemp and Bailey Tomkinson and The Locals.
Visitors can also enjoy tribute and themed performances, including Celebrating George Michael, That Brit Pop Band, The Ultimate Mod Revue and Not The Beatles.
Comedy and spoken-word events form another important part of the programme, with performers including Pam Ayres and Cornish comedian Johnny Cowling.
Art and Open Studios
St Ives has a world-famous artistic heritage, and the festival offers a special opportunity to experience it.
Artists and craftspeople across the town will open their studios, allowing visitors to see where they work, discuss their creative process and discover original paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles and other locally made pieces.
The wider programme also includes exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and practical workshops. Events at locations such as the Leach Pottery celebrate the town’s long-standing connection with pottery and studio craftsmanship.
Walks, Talks and Workshops
The festival is about much more than evening performances. During the day, visitors can join guided walks, attend talks, explore exhibitions or take part in creative classes.
The programme includes events covering local history, music, literature, pottery and the distinctive landscapes of West Cornwall. There will also be free music and street entertainment on both festival Saturdays, helping to create a lively atmosphere throughout St Ives.
Getting to St Ives
Parking in St Ives can be limited, particularly during major events. One of the easiest ways to visit is by travelling on the scenic branch-line train from St Erth.
The journey follows the coast and provides beautiful views across St Ives Bay before arriving close to Porthminster Beach and the town centre.
